Steel Cut Oats & Quinoa Hot Cereal

This is the cereal my husband and I created when we adopted a vegan lifestyle. It’s delicious! It’s hearty! It’s a combination of steel cut oats and quinoa with sweet bits of fresh banana and cinnamon mixed in! And it’s topped with a blend of protein-packed raw seeds and nuts to provide plenty of energy to start your day!

Since this cereal takes a while to make I recommend putting it on the stove as soon as you wake so that it’s ready once your dressed. Enjoy!

Ingredients
1 1/3 cup water
1/2 cup quinoa
1/2 cup steel cut oats
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions
Combine water, quinoa and oats in a saucepan and cook on low heat with lid on but vented for about 30 minutes or until water cooks away. Stir in cinnamon and serve.

Toppings
Diced banana
Maple syrup (optional)
Super Seed & Nut Mixture
Almond milk

Serves 4
Prep. time 5 minutes
Cook time 30 minutes
